We are a non-profit and non-denominational organisation fostering the love of music in our community.

 

A chorister's comment: "CHIME is a community choir organisation with expert management and direction, in a wonderfully pleasant atmosphere. They are committed to excellence in choral music, and are fostering the next generation of singers."

 

 We are an umbrella organisation supporting a number of choirs and covering a broad variety of choral styles. We are recognised as one of Melbourne's premiere choirs with numerous successes in local competitions.

Having conducted international tours every three to four years, the Choral Institute has also acquired international recognition. Since the mid-1980's we have toured to North America, Hong Kong, Japan, and Europe. We have participated the the 1st and 3rd Choir Olympics, and most recently toured Italy in 2008.

CHIME was proud to make a 75 voice selection, of the 130 voice Australian Christmas Choir, available for the City of Whitehorse Christmas celebrations.

CHIME was delighted to present a choir of 50 voices for the performance of  "Its a beautiful day" during the signing of the wedding register. Wish the couple well in the future lives together.

CHIME is seeking young people 16 - 21 for its 2010 Christmas season.

This choir performs nightly at Crown (as the Crown Christmas Choir) as well as other prestigious venues around Melbourne throughout the month of December.

  • Rehearsals are held at Box Hill during September, October, November and are flexible to work around Year 11 and 12, and Uni exams.
  • Music and rehearsal CDs make it easy to learn parts
  • You choose your own performance dates
  • Honararia payments are for each performance
  • Make new friends and have a great time
